February 28, 2pm - “Dogging:" bring your dog, meet friends and clear trails
March 15, 4-7pm - Member Kick off “Wine + Cheese” – bring a riding friend!
April 11, 2pm- Tack Swap at local barn "Hot cider and donuts”
May 2, 5-8pm - Derby Day Party, Pequot Library
June 19, 3-6 pm - Royal Ascot English Tea - wear your fabulous hat!
October 10, 8am-2pm - FBTA Hunter Trails, FCHC
December 9, 6-9pm – Member Holiday Party
The FBTA is interested in developing a closer community of horse enthusiasts in our area. We would like to promote a number of special events throughout the year to encourage this. Some events we are considering are:
- Spring and Fall Trail Clean-up and Luncheon
- Group Trail Rides with Post-ride Tailgating
- Tack Exchange Open House
- Barn Tour Progression
- Custom Riding Apparel Private Sale/Luncheon or Cocktails
- Baker Riding Accessories Private Sale/Luncheon or Cocktails
- Holiday Open House
- Please make some more suggestions!

FBTA First Annual Derby Day Fundraiser
The Fairfield Bridle Trails Association, in collaboration with the Pequot Library, invites you to
Deck Out for the Derby!
Join us on the Pequot Library lawn for a mint julep and southern fried chicken. Watch and wager on the races in the company of your fellow equine enthusiasts!

Check in at the FBTA Tent, where you can make your donation and receive your FBTA wristband.
Memorial Day Trail Ride:
SUNDAY, MAY 25th, 2008 at 2:00 pm - ASPETUCK FIELD, SOUTHPORT
Dorothy Porter will lead a Memorial Day Ride in Lower Greenfield Hill on Sunday, May 25th at 2:00 pm. We will meet at the Aspetuck field at the corner of Morehouse Lane and Cedar Road in Southport. Trailers- please park on the field-side of the street; it may be possible also to park in the field, we are inquiring. Beaglers and walkers are welcome to join, and a tailgate party will be held following the ride. If you are interested in joining us please rsvp to ariane@fairfieldbridletrails.org.
Because this ride will take us over private land we need all participants to be members of the FBTA. Please see our membership page for an application.
Group Trail Ride:
SUNDAY, APRIL 27th, 2:00 pm - BRETT WOODS
Dorothy Porter will lead a Spring Ride at Brett Woods on Sunday, April 27th at 2:00 pm. Riders will meet at the North Street entrance to the park (off of Redding Road). Beaglers and walkers are welcome to join, and a tailgate party will be held concurrent with and following the ride.
If you would like to know more or would like to make an additional suggestion(s), please e-mail specialevents@fairfieldbridletrails.org. Please indicate what you are interested in and what times might be convenient for you. If there is enough interest on any subject, we will organize it!
